Based on true events, this story is a short and emotional depiction of Monin moving from her tropical home to the cold North. When she arrives, she is surprised once she feels the difference!
Colonization has forced children like Monin to migrate from the sunny south to the icy north without the proper preparation for these changes. This causes fear, apathy, and anger, however, the experience of seeing snow for the first time can also bring joy!
This story was written in English, Spanish and French for the families who were blessed enough to fall in love with snow.
MEET THE CREATORS
"Ellison met Monin Valentin when she was shopping for books one day. Valentin told Ellison her life story and Ellison was inspired to write Feathers in the Sky, an account that includes experiences like Valentin’s first time seeing snow."
